No hill-stations, no beaches. Take us to Jaipur said our guests from abroad who have gathered here with us for the first time here in Delhi, we planned a 2-daytrip to the pink city. Being only a 4-5 hrs Delhi to Jaipur trip, makes it one of the most frequently visited travel destinations.
With everything arranged, bags packed and cab hired, we finally left on the Delhi to Jaipur trip on a nice Saturday morning. Only later would I realize that this would turn out to be one of the most memorable trips of my life.
Day 1: New Delhi→Jaipur
After an early breakfast, we boarded our cab for Delhi to Jaipur trip from New Delhi and headed out towards Jaipur along NH-.8. We planned to reach Jaipur by 3:00 pm so that we could roam around the city in the evening. We were recommended to have our lunch on Gangaur Midway which was located exactly where we wanted it to be just after halfway long journey. We reached the Gangaur Midway in about 2 and a half hour and rested for a bit. We had our lunch, they have an excellent sitting arrangement on the backside of their garden. My guests were beginning to enjoy the trip by now. The staff was well behaved and guided us about the right sequence to visit monuments in jaipur.
Itinerary : New Delhi→Jaipur via NH-8
Places Visited : Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar, Chokhi Dhani, Jaigarh fort, Jal mahal, Hawa Mahal, Bapu bazaar, Birla temple
We then headed out for sightseeing around 3:00 pm. We planned to visit the Birla temple and then go to Chowki Dhani in the evening.
And so we left for the Birla Temple. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, the Birla temple is a proud architectural landmark of Jaipur. It is completely built in pure white marble.
The best part about this temple is that apart from idols of Gods and Goddesses, pictures/figures of several religious saints, philosophers and historical achievers, like Socrates, Buddha, Confucius, etc. are also included in the temple. The place was quite serene and beautiful. We spent a few hours there and then left for Chowki Dhani.
The time at Chokhi Dhani passed beautifully as I danced around and later had the delicious Rajasthani cuisine served in traditional Rajasthani style.
We returned to the hotel at 9:00 pm and headed straight to our beds.
Day 2: Exploring Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar, Jal mahal, Hawa mahal, Jaigarh fort and the Bapu bazaar
We got up early the next day, had breakfast at our hotel and by 9:00 am we were out in our cab to explore the magnificent palaces that the pink city has to offer. First, we headed to the Jantar Mantar observatory.
There are guides available who can take you around the place and make you understand the whole functioning. Even though this wasn’t the first I was visiting this place, it did not fail to awe me all over again.
Our next stop was the Hawa Mahal or the Palace on winds. This beautiful palace is named so because, originally, it was constructed so that the royal women could observe the festivities going on in the streets below, in an airy compound, without being exposed to anyone from outside.
The Hawa Mahal provides a mesmerizing glimpse into the lifestyle that the kings and the queens led. We spent an hour going around in the palace and taking photographs.
After that, we headed to the Jaigarh Fort. Then we drove right to the gates of the fort and strolled inside. Built from pale yellow and pink sandstone and white marble, the Amer fort is divided into a number of courtyards. It is magnificent in its splendor and a sight to behold. We spent about an hour and a half exploring the various Fort sections and clicking gorgeous photographs.
Soon after, we left for Bapu bazaar.
Next day, when we were heading towards Delhi back to home. We were greeted on another Gangaur Midway which was located on mid highway near behror. Ambience was very clean and comfortable. We went on to narrate about all our tour to Jaipur and their another unit’s staff helped us and manager gave all his time to listen to us. Thank you for all the greetings.
That was a 2 day trip to Jaipur, This trip is probably the most unforgettable trips we ever had. We visited so many beautiful places and some really good people.
Hope to visit again with the same company to the same spots.
